This is the second time already... I'm so sad to leave, but I tell myself that I will come back next year to the Dar Sahara hostel at the exit of M'hamid, where the asphalt road is over and the desert is immense. begin. We will be welcomed by our admirable host M’Barek. Our rooms are each more beautiful than the other, we will be invited to the new terrace to have mint tea. And if you are good, a little cat named Carrot will come to see you. The evening approaches and before you a splendid spectacle unfolds: the sunset. And at nightfall the little lights dotted around the inn make this place wonderfully magical. Evening meal, breakfast, beautiful to look at and good to eat. M’Barek’s cooks are excellent! In the morning the camels with their masters are already waiting for us to take us further into the desert. The lunch break takes place under the tamarisk or acacia trees, a meal concocted before our eyes by our guides over a fire made from a few pieces of wood found around us. The meal is good, prepared and nicely arranged on the carpet, as it should be. Tip 1: Leave your hats at home, equip yourself with a long local scarf and take the M’Barek course to learn how to make your own scarf with a sandstorm option. Tip 2: Don't be in a hurry, let yourself be lulled by the movement of the camels, the 4x4 and the music of the Tuaregs following the same rhythm, admire the landscape which constantly changes while greeting the brave vegetation which grows almost without water. After a final 4x4 turn on the crest of a dune we are there. Below, in the hollow of the dunes, the Dar Sahara camp appears as if by magic. Delicious dinner, campfire, we tell stories, jokes, we sing, we play riddles... Above our heads the black velvet sky filled with stars. After a final round of tea or herbal tea, while the fire slowly goes out, we return to our tents with comfortable beds, we slip under the quilt and we sleep, we sleep like never before. We live in a stressed world where we have forgotten the simplicity and authenticity of things. Here we are in no hurry, we can rediscover everything (or almost).

Unforgettable moment, a total change of scenery in peace, excellent cuisine, comfortable room and a warm and super friendly team. Only happiness. We spent one night there before leaving to sleep in a bivouac, an experience not to be missed. Everything was super well organized and thank you Mbarek for the good atmosphere, the lively evening and your good humor. A must do

Camel and 4x4 Rides through the Desert
We drove to M'Hamid and ended at the real end of the road before the desert, and stumbled upon this Auberge. We asked for a tour through the desert, like a camel ride. We were welcomed with a glass of tea, and we organised a desert trip the way we wanted it, with a camel ride and a 4x4 drive of 2 hours. The experience was absolutely great, the guides very nice and forthcoming. I had a lot of opportunities to shoot photos, and we had really great fun.

Fantastic experience
Everything fantastic! They organized everything in detail and accompanied us for five days. They were perfect in their timing, making us live a dream experience. Ibrahim, who followed us these days, is friendly and reliable; a great person with a lot to convey. NUMBER 1!! Mbarek, a kind-hearted person who contributed to the success of our experience. A note on the cuisine, really delicious. MAMMA MIA what a show!

Como en casa
Muy buena experiencia! Es un lugar magnífico para disfrutar a las puertas del desierto. Fuimos con motivo de un festival únicamente para alojarnos allí (no hicimos excursiones) y nos trataron de lujo. Mbarak y sus socios son muy acogedores y amebizaban la estancia con su música para aguantar mejor el calor! Tiene diferentes habitaciones dependiendo del precio, algunas con aire acondicionado, otras no. También es posible dormir en el exterior, en su estupenda terraza superior (genial), o bien en las tiendas de afuera. Desayuno correcto, alguna almohada un tanto dura y sitio limpio. Lo recomiendo!!

This was my second visit. And with a reason. It’s a Fine and relaxed atmosphere with good service and quality tour trough the desert. Mbarek Benghazi is a really good guide. I really enjoyed the camel ride at sunset. Diner and breakfast in the dessert camp tasted delicious. I definitely recommend this place

Fantastique
Nous avons dormi une nuit a l'auberge avant de partir en trek dans le désert. Une journée de marche, avec les dormadaires. Le soir nous avons monte la tente pour un bivouac sauvage. Le lendemain, dar sahara avait organisé un déplacement en 4x4 aux dunes de chigaga. Tout était incroyable, l'auberge à mhamid, les guides, le bivouac sauvage et le bivouac fixe qui était luxueux. Allé y, c'est fantastique !

A warm, friendly and welcoming place in M'Hamid
My girlfriend and I spent one night at Auberge Kasbah Dar Sahara. The room was basic but comfortable and included a shower. The hot water was somewhat temperamental and there was no WiFi. However, for the price paid and consideration that you're in a very remote location, Dar Sahara was a great place to stay. We were welcomed warmly and provided dinner when we arrived, even though it was quite late. The hosts spoke good English and were very friendly and accommodating. I was even able to hotspot my phone from one of the hosts data to access the Internet. The place is very warmly designed and laid out in a seemingly traditional way that feels welcoming and relaxed. I'd recommend anyone travelling to M'Hamid to stay at Dar Sahara.

Aux portes du désert
Un grand merci à Hassan pour son accueil chaleureux et bienveillant. Nous avons passé une superbe soirée dans le patio sous les tentes à partager son expérience du désert autour d’un bon thé. La chambre était spacieuse et propre. Une petite terrasse surprenante avec une vue prometteuse sur le désert. La tradition d’accueil et de partage du désert au rendez vous.
