Departure: M’Hamid / Route: Sidi Naji - Erg Ez-Zahar – Ait Ounir - Erg Bartam - M’Hamid
Camel5 days is time enough to admire the desert with its majestic simplicity, to immerse yourself in spectacular landscapes and to have the opportunity to learn more about Nomad culture through conversations with our experienced guides. This tour offers different attractions such as, the beautiful landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, authentic architecture, camping in the Sahara Desert, camel riding, traditionall food, music and much more. Day 1: M’Hamid – Sidi Naji
Early in the morning we leave M’Hamid, the final village before the desert. We will enjoy a trek with our camel drivers through the desert landscapes. After a few hours, we stop for a picnic and a rest. Our final destination today is Marabeau de Sidi Naji, where we enjoy dinner and entertainment around the camp fire with music provided by the locals. The camp is set up to enjoy the night under the stars or in tent.
Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg Ez-Zahar
In the afternoon, our trek takes us over a rocky plateau before reaching Erg Ez-Zahar. The huge dune towers magnificently above Morocco’s rich range of desert landscapes. We will set up camp for the night at the foot of this impressive dune. Dinner, and entertainment around the camp fire with music.
Day 3: Erg Ez-Zahar – Ait Ounir
Departure from Erg Ez-Zahar to Ait Ounir, the ‘small dunes’. The third Bivouac where we can enjoy the desert sunset.
Day 4: Ait Ounir – Erg Bartam
The caravan crosses outstretched desert landscapes to arrive in Erg Bartam Overnight under a starry sky.
Day 5: Erg Bartam – M’Hamid
Last day. We leave Erg Brtam to return to M’Hamid. The rhythm of the footsteps is music to our ears. Time to say goodbye to the desert!
