Day 1: Marrakech – Zagora – M’hamid

Departure early morning from Marrakech by 4×4, travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, it is offering spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and valleys with the colourful Snaky road, and we also explore some Berber villages along the way.

Along the way we will stop to visit several Kasbahs, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou, which is 16th century UNESCO site, Ait Benhaddou is one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. A famous site for Hollywood films, Ait Benhaddou was used for the blockbuster film of 2000, Gladiator. The trip continues through the palm-lined Draa river valley. Arrival in Zagora for a cup of Moroccan tea. Afterwards, continuation towards the gate of Sahara desert, M’hamid where our guesthouse is located. We will be ready to greet you with a typical Nomad dinner. You will spend your night in a cozy room or in a tent with the star view.

Day 2: M’hamid – (Sahara) Sacred Oasis – Erg Chegaga

After your breakfast, you ride on saddled camels and we will travel intothe Sahara desert. We will spend two travelling by camel back, followed by a break for lunch in one of the dunes. After lunch the Jeep will get us and continue through the beautiful desert towards our camp, on the way you will be mesmerised with the picturesque Sahara landscape. We will stop at the Sacred Oasis to enjoy a Berber tea. Our journey will continue until we reach the sand dunes of Erg Chegaga (the largest group of dunes in the region reaching a height of 300 m and a span of 40 km) where we have our camp. Dinner is served with entertainment.

Day 3: (Sahara) Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

After enjoying the sunrise from the sand dunes, breakfast will be served. Departure by 4×4 vehicles via the old Paris-Dakar road to Village Foum Zguid, crossing Iriqui lake. Lunch in the berber village Taznakht. Arrival to Marrakech about 6:30 p.m.
